We will be closed for personal time on Thursday the 29th and Friday the 30th. Thank you for your support and understanding!
Nearly every year, if we can, we take some time off over spring break to spend with our son. We will be closed Monday and Tuesday per our usual schedule, and March 19th-23rd.
Thank you for your support and understanding of our small, owner operated business. We hope that you understand that part of our ability to stay open in a less frequented part of town is that we don’t have any employees and do everything ourselves, just the two of us. Obviously because of that, when we need a break, the shop closes.
We are lucky to share our rent and bills with the gallery and nursery, and that is a huge help, as well. We hope you will continue to support us, even if our closures may be a bit inconvenient or frustrating. We have seen many businesses come and go on Park Ave and in the Barber neighborhood, and we love serving you all. In order to keep it that way, you want us to take breaks. Trust us on that.
We will be taking some personal time January 18th and 19th. Idea: stock up on cans on Friday the 17th to get you through the weekend :)
Open the 15th-17th from 7-2p. Thanks for your support and understanding!
Closed New Year’s Day! Why? Because it is a really slow business day and people expect us to be closed, so we may as well meet some expectations! Ha. Anyway, back on 01/02 and will carry out the rest of the week normally.
Historically, we have been open on holidays. As the years went on, business on holidays slowed and we started to wonder, if everyone else has these days off, why we weren’t taking them, too. So, in the spirit of not standing around the cafe doing nothing while everyone chills at home, we will be chilling at home :)
We will be open 8-2 on Saturday and Sunday, and that is all.
And don’t forget, we live and work on occupied Mechoopda land. Land acknowledgment is just a small part of what we can all do (bare minimum).
Helloooooo
Haven’t you heard? We are throwing a fundraiser for our INCREDIBLE community friend and pal, Scout!
Anyway, we have a long day on the Saturday preceding this (work 7:30-3:30, come back and set up for the event, event 6:30-9:30pm, clean up and head home), and we will not torture ourselves by working on the 27th. So, we are closed! Please come and give Scout your money on Saturday at the event :)
thanks byeeeee
MARK YOUR CALENDARS, we’re throwing a fundraiser benefiting the wonderful @scoutthewise on October 26th from 6:30-9:30pm. We are all so lucky to have Scout as part of our community, blessing us with sweet tunes and cool art. Time to give back and help them stay comfortable and stress free as they recover from top surgery all while we dance and have some fun!
So, keeping in mind that all of this is benefitting their Top Surgery Recovery Fund, here’s a lil picture of what this fundraiser will be like:
~ 6:30 to 8:30: DJ YKSE and DJ Linda Love will be spinning all the tunes
~ 8:30 to 9:30: Scout and Friends will close us down with a sort of open mic style jam session
~ Equilateral will be swapping out the coffee menu and will be serving three fancy mocktails
~ Zak Elstein aka @_music_boxes_ will be selling a limited amount of music boxes with one of Scout’s songs transposed by Michael Bone
~ we will have merch from @transfigureprintco for sale
~ there will be a cool raffle with donations from places like @ghost_poppy_, @savoricecream, and @roselle_barlounge
~ lil pop up art sale from Scout
Basically, this event is going to just be a huge gesture of love, and we want you all to be a part of it. We hope you can be there. And thank you to the @1078gallery for allowing us to take over the whole building for this!
PS, if anyone else would like to help make this a successful event, raffle donations would be amazing! You can drop off at Equilateral during our open hours, or we can arrange to pick up. Good donations would be: gift cards to local businesses, art, stickers, etc. you know! Things people would want to win!
We will start selling raffle tickets the week of the event for those of you who may not make it to the event itself. Now let’s raise some money! Flyer made by @scouttheillustrator, of course.
Hello, we will be closed due to an event we are attending out of town! Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy regarding any additional details not provided here.
We will be open normal hours on Wednesday and Thursday preceding the closure.
If you’re wondering, every summer we try to take some time off to spend family time with our son. Owning your own business has many benefits, but we sacrifice a lot in our personal lives on a regular basis. Taking spring and summer breaks help us keep life and work balanced.
As always, we are closed weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Thank you for your support and understanding!
While we love our job, sometimes the line between our personal lives and work lives get blurry. It can be a lot to answer the same questions over and over all day, kind of like when you break a bone and everyone wants to know what happened. Remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder! We will see you when we return!
Surprised? Us too! But past years have taught us that the holidays that most Americans celebrate are slow business days, so we may as well get a day off out of it! We will be cooling down in the creek and enjoying nature. See you Friday at 7! Stay hydrated.
Hellooooo. Equilateral Coffee will be closed all of Memorial Day weekend (May 25/26).
Thank you for understanding!
Rylan will be out of town for a work conference. Eileen will operate Equilateral Friday, April 12th through Sunday, April 14th with a friend. Please take into consideration that orders may take a bit longer due to a new person working but we wanted to offer some open hours during this time.
Things will be back to normal on Friday, April 19th.
Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding!

Espresso machine broke during service. We have an appt Thursday, Feb 1st with the technician and hopefully it will be fixed.
We will be closed, Wednesday, Dec 27th to get prepped for the rest of the week. We ran out of lots of ingredients and will not be spending the holiday/our day off making syrups and going grocery shopping! Thank you for understanding.
We will be back on Thursday the 28th at 7am!
We will be open until 12:30pm so please come between 8am and 12:30pm if you would like place an order! If you see us in there after 12:30 (doing cleaning tasks!), no you didn’t. Happy Holidays, bye!
Hello, we will be closed Wednesday and Thursday this week.
In previous years, we stayed open for every “holiday” as we were one of the only places open those days. Lately, more and more shops are staying open, so there isn’t really a need for us to stay open any longer. Instead of us dragging our kid into work with us on his break, we will take the time off to spend at home with him.
Thanks for understanding and remember, Chico (and our cafe/gallery/plant nursery) is located on the stolen land of the Mechoopda tribe.
We will be out of town celebrating a birthday. Thank you for understanding!
In addition to our usual days off, we will be closed July 19th through the 23rd. Thank you for your support and understanding!
Rylan is going out of town on Friday afternoon and won’t be back until Saturday afternoon! To address any ideas on how we can stay open, Saturdays are far too busy to work solo or with a fill in who isn’t fully trained. Plus, we’re all good closing for good reason :)
Our son is finishing up elementary school and his school scheduled his promotion ceremony right in the middle of the morning! We’re going to have a half day so we can attend. We plan to be open 10:30am-2pm but will open sooner if we are able. Check our Instagram (@equilateralcoffee) for updates that day!
It’s bike races time! IYKYK. Anyway, we’re closing for the weekend to have some irresponsible fun. See some of you there!
We are closing due to a medical emergency. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy. We hope to be back by Wednesday, April 5th.
Just like every other year, we work the holidays and take a small hiatus for spring break with our son. Everyone needs a break some time! We thank you for understanding and supporting our tiny local business.
We will be closed Sunday, March 12th through Tuesday, March 21st. We will be back Wednesday, March 22nd at 7am ready to serve you all :)
What funny timing, eh? We’re closed again! But this time it’s for bike races. We’ll be closed Saturday to join the fun, and Sunday to recover.
Bring yourself in for a treat! We will have an extra large batch of house vegan nog ready.
